It was great to see families, people we support, and staff last night at the Our Inclusive Community Project Christmas event held at Upper Springland.
The event provided an opportunity for people to visit the mock flat where Chris and Nick, from Function Control, chatted about the different accessible environmental control methods available. There were conversations around the use of sensors to gather data and how this could be used in a meaningful way to enhance care provision.
Ailsa Wallace, Head of Communications and Fundraising, shared information about the exciting developments of the fundraising team, introducing Louise Turner and Euan McIntyre, and what the team hope to achieve in the next few years.
Naomi Smith, Co-production Leader, spoke about Bertha Park Community Council who helped plan the event. They meet regularly, allowing them to talk about the project and hear about any developments. Naomi provided a summary of what had been accomplished so far and how this information has been shared.
Willam, a person we support, responded to an enthusiastic countdown and hit the accessible switch to turn on the Christmas lights, filling the theatre with a festive glow and giving the cue for a Christmas sing-along. It was fantastic to see and hear everyone joining in, particularly the 12 Days of Christmas!
