Our new partnership sets the stage for community support

Mercure Perth and Capability Scotland unite for local initiatives

We have partnered with Mercure Perth to enhance community engagement and support essential services.

On 16th June, we are teaming up with the Perth hotel to face a 165ft drop in the charity Forth Rail Bridge Abseil to launch our exciting new partnership. So far, this annual charity event has raised over £3 million for charities across Scotland and poses to be a great challenge for us to celebrate our collaboration while contributing to a worthwhile cause.

It comes at an important time for Capability Scotland, with our pioneering project, the Our Inclusive Community Project, that will see the Upper Springland campus move to a new state-of-the-art facility at Bertha Park, designed to set a new standard for inclusive, empowering care and support.

Mercure Perth’s team members will also take part in various fundraising and community events throughout the year, further strengthening the bond between the hotel and Capability Scotland.  This partnership underscores Capability Scotland’s vision of enabling independence, participation, and potential for disabled people through innovative, technology-enabled care solutions.

Kathryn McLellan, General Manager of Mercure Perth, said: “Through our new charity partnership, Mercure Perth is supporting Capability Scotland to secure the future of essential services they provide for disabled people here in the city.

“Upper Springland has been a part of our close-knit community for over 45 years, and we look forward to joining them on the journey to their new home at Bertha Park.

“Mercure is committed to working in harmony with the communities we operate within and we are delighted to be beginning this partnership which will support a vital cause and bring our whole team together to do something very special.”

Johnnie McMillan, Events & Partnerships Officer at Capability Scotland, said: “We are privileged to be partnering with one of Perth’s landmark businesses, especially at this exciting time in the evolution of our services.

“The Mercure Perth team has approached this new relationship with so much energy and enthusiasm, and we can’t wait to get started.”

In addition to participating in the Forth Rail Bridge Abseil, Mercure Perth team members will also take part in various fundraising and community events throughout the year, further strengthening the bond between the hotel and Capability Scotland.

Developer set to spearhead Scotland’s most advanced complex-needs project

Mercure Perth’s involvement highlights its commitment to community support and social responsibility, demonstrating a model of corporate and charity collaboration that can inspire others.  By joining forces, both organisations aim to create a positive impact that extends beyond immediate fundraising efforts, contributing to the long-term well-being of the local community.
