We are excited to share a major milestone for the Our Inclusive Community Project as we embrace a new and promising direction for our future in Perth. Following a careful and strategic review, we are officially shifting our focus to a new site at Glover Street in the city centre. This decision marks a significant step forward in our ambition to create a pioneering, inclusive community that sets a new standard for care, and we are working closely with Perth & Kinross Council to finalize this transition.
While our original plans at Bertha Park provided a valuable starting point, this change allows us to secure a more sustainable and viable path for the long term. Our current Upper Springland campus has served our community with heart for many years, but with ageing infrastructure and increasing challenges related to the River Tay, it is time for us to evolve. By moving to a central location, we are not just building new facilities; we are ensuring that our residents remain at the very heart of the city they call home, maintaining the vital connections and support networks that allow them to thrive.
This move is a tremendous boost for our charity and the wider Perth community, as it safeguards over 200 jobs and brings essential, exemplar care services directly into the city centre. Our leadership team and partners have completed thorough feasibility studies on the Glover Street location, confirming it offers the resilience and safety required for our residents and services. This transition is about more than just a new building; it is about providing a modern, integrated environment where the people we support can lead fulfilling, independent lives.
As we progress with this exciting new chapter, our commitment to co-production remains stronger than ever. We are moving forward in close partnership with the people we support, their families, and our dedicated staff, all of whom continue to shape the final design through ongoing engagement. We look forward to signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Council in the coming weeks and invite you to follow our progress as we work together to turn this vision into a vibrant reality for everyone we support.
